Here is This Month’s Food for Thought Recipe

Sometimes, a steak is all you want. Just because you’re trying to be healthy doesn’t mean you have to entirely cut it out of your weekly meals. Here is a healthy way to enjoy a steak once in a while. Enjoy!

Steak with Mustard Shallot Sauce


6 oz lean top sirloin steak (1 inch think)

Kosher salt and black pepper

1 tsp olive oil

1 TBSP Dijon mustard

1 TBSP red wine vinegar

1 shallot, chopped

3 cups green beans or veggies of choice


  1. Season steak with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste
  2. Cook in the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, 3-5 mins per side for medium-rare.
  3. Let rest 5 minutes then slice against the grain.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the mustard, vinegar and shallots.
  5. Steam the green beans until tender, 4-6 mins.
  6. Top the steak with mustard sauce and serve with the green beans.
  7. Enjoy!
